Sport Ireland seeks the voices of our youth

In planning for the future, Sport Ireland seeks the voices of our young people!

Sport Ireland wishes to better understand the current landscape for women in sport and identify common barriers and opportunities. A focus group will be held on June 25th at Sport HQ, Dublin inviting young people from ages 16 to 18. It would be great to have some of out young people attend and put the aquatic voice forward.

The outcomes from this focus group will help to inform Sport Ireland on the best way forward to increase women’s involvement as advocates, leaders and participants from recreational sport to the podium. Sport Ireland has appointed Lisa Clancy of Clansult Ltd and Sarah O’Shea of SOS Sports Consult to complete this project.

The focus groups will concentrate on three key areas:
1. Participation, 2. Performance, 3. Leadership and Governance.

The evening will begin with registration at 6.45pm. The focus group session will start at 7pm sharp.Registration will remain open until 21st June at 18:00.

Note: The registration form requests a parent’s email address for those who are aged 16 and 17, and a personal email address for those aged 18. We have also included a line seeking parental consent for those aged 16 or 17.
