  • Squad swimming recommenced on 06 Sep
  • Virtual club AGM will be held on 05 Oct, communications will follow in Sep related to committee vacancies as well as opportunities to submit motions for the AGM
  • Seven Sundays Well Swimmers selected for Swim Irelands pathway programme aimed at athletes aged 17 – 21. Congratulations to the following: Anna Feenan, Paul Higgins, Sharon Semchiy, Michael Feenan, Beth Nolan, Rory Lee and James Ryan
  • Swim Ireland expect to run a full gala program in 2021/22

  • Squad swimming will recommence from 07 September.
  • Parents meeting and the club swim (Dripsey) will be held on 11 Sep (Gov. Covid guidelines permitting).
  • Club AGM will be held on 04 October.

  • The club acknowledges the receipt of funding allocated by a number of Cork City Councillors from Cork City Council Ward Funds

Committee Meeting Points of Note – May 2021

  • The committee would like to express its condolences on behalf of the club to Maura, Eamonn & Aine King on the tragic death of their son & brother Conor. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h’anam dílis.
  • SWSC’s three representatives (Sean O’Riordan, Andrew Feenan and Liam Custer) performed very well at the Irish National Team Trials (20 – 24 Apr in the NAC, Dublin).
  • Five SWSC athletes have been selected for the National Squad Programme; Anna Feenan, Ellen Lee, Beth Nolan, Luke O’Sullivan, Sharon Semchiy
  • SI annual report is published and located on the SI website
  • The Club is working towards a return to swimming on 7 June in expectation that swimming pools will open on that date in line with government guidelines.

Committee Meeting Points of Note – April 2021

  • Eamon Curtin and Tom Cross will represent the club at the virtual SI AGM on 10 Apr 2021
  • SWSC will have three representatives (Sean O’Riordan, Andrew Feenan and Liam Custer) at the Irish National Team Trials for the 2021 International Summer Meets (20 – 24 Apr in the NAC, Dublin).

  • Congratulations to Mary Haughney on her Federation of Irish Sports Volunteer award which comes with a €250 donation to SWSC.
  • SY Youth open talk with Shane Ryan on 31 Mar 2021
  • Applied for the Sports capital grant for pace lights and resistance devices and have also recently procured a display screen and new sound system for the pool
  • Committee would be grateful if some members could volunteer for the Public relations subcommittee, particularly anyone with a PR/ marketing background
  • Next committee meetings to be held on 06 April, 04 May, 08 June

    • SWSC also seconded nominations from Kenmare SC and Dolphin SC for positions at regional and national level
  • Committee meetings are on the first Monday of the month, on the first Tuesday where it’s a Bank Holiday, and that the next meeting is 01 March.
